Chase Brexton Health Care is growing its services by creating an outpatient substance abuse program at its Glen Burnie center.Starting Thursday, the center at 200 Hospital Drive will offer services such as screening and evaluations, intensive and traditional outpatient treatment, and DWI/DUI education.The Glen Burnie center, which opened in 2014, also plans to expand dental and pediatric care.

SPRINGFIELD – In response to neighborhood concerns, the McKnight Neighborhood Council has scheduled a public meeting Sept. 6 regarding a residential recovery substance abuse program planned at 1090 Worthington St.The meeting is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rebecca Johnson School at 55 Catharine St., with invitees including representatives of the the Bridge Home, a nonprofit company planning its first recovery home in Springfield.Walter Kroll, president of the McKnight Neighborhood Council, said neighbors have voiced many concerns ranging from the appropriateness of a recovery home next to a day care center to concerns about the concentration of group homes in the neighborhood.
