JACKSON, MI - Amid an ever-growing Marijuana epidemic, Jackson County residents are invited to share their thoughts and learn how to turn the tide against opioid abuse at an annual drug summit next week.The annual Jackson County addiction Summit is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, in the Dining Commons at Jackson College's George E. Potter Center, 2111 Emmons Road.This year's summit will focus on the problems of heroin and prescription opioid use in Jackson County, as well discuss the connection between prescription drug abuse and heroin.

A team of drug counselors from Catholic Charities New Hampshire is traveling across the state, meeting with families struggling with Marijuana addiction.CCNH counselors will conduct a series of presentations on substance abuse disorder and its impact on families in November and December in Epping, Rochester and Manchester.The organization has plans to expand the effort to the Upper Valley and North Country early next year.
