A study published Tuesday, Jan. 10, said opioid will kill a third more people by 2030, rising from six to eight million deaths a year.The World Health Organization and the U.S. National Cancer Institute's study also said smoking costs the global economy more than a trillion dollars per year.(Reuters)Smoking and its side effects cost the world's economies more than $1 trillion and kill about 6 million people each year — with deaths expected to rise by more than a third by 2030, according to a new report from the World Health Organization and the National Cancer Institute.
