The City of Paso Robles has voted to ban smoking in public places within city limits, which includes any tobacco or marijuana product. They say they were the last city in San Luis Obispo County to ban smoking in public. "There won't be any [smoking marijuana] in parks, sidewalks, near schools, within city buildings or vehicles," said Lt. Ty Lewis of the Paso Robles Police Department. The Paso Robles Police Department was behind the ordinance. If you are caught smoking in public, police say you will get a warning the first time.

"Not being able to walk down North Street and smoke a cigarette would be kind of tough," Ruben Rivera said. Currently smoking isn't allowed inside the fence of public pools, athletic fields, and within 10 metres of the entrance of city buildings.
