A woman charged with drug-induced homicide after her husband died of heroin and fentanyl intoxication last year is back in Kane County jail on new drug charges. Moore and Smith, both arrested in October, were the 12th and 13th people charged with drug-induced homicide in Kane County, under a state law created in 1989 and expanded in 2002. When Gregoire overdosed, Smith and her son were there, Kane County Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Patrick Gengler said. Smith is next to appear at 9 a.m. Friday, March 3, before judge James C. Hallock in Courtroom 313 at the Kane County Judicial Center. Smith's other previous convictions in Kane County include a 2014 retail theft for which she was sentenced to public service and probation.

32 charged in Nashville undercover drug bust

Metro Nashville Police said 32 people were charged as part of an undercover drug investigation. Sherl Cox, 53, who lived at the apartment, is charged with felony drug possession with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and cocaine possession in a drug-free zone. During the investigation from Thursday to Sunday, detectives said they conducted undercover drug buys and dozens of illegal pill transactions. Doral Newsom, 46, Annie Newsom, 67, and Joann Leflore, 28. are also all charged with felony drug possession in connection to the investigation. Demarcus Terrell, 26, is charged with felony cocaine possession.
