LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Michigan State House and Senate Committees are set to begin testimony on more than a dozen measures that aim to combat Michigan's growing Marijuana epidemic. believe greater education and awareness could ultimately help curb Michigan's opioid crisis. Another measure calls for a parental consent before minors are prescribed certain drugs, but one bill, some believe could be a game-changer. She said 30 years ago the Community Healing Center had virtually no residential patients with heroin or opioid abuse. The bill would require public schools in Michigan to educate their students about opioids.

The Obama administration was fighting the Marijuana crisis and the Trump administration looks to be tackling the issue as well. The office will also focus on the opioid abuse crisis in the U.S., and Trump is expected to name New Jersey Gov. The opioid crisis has been gripping the nation.
