Fast forward to present day and you're likely to hear a song about drugs...in country music, according to a new study. Barbiturates, a constant in country music since its inception, was not studied by the scientists. In terms of individual artists, the Kottonmouth Kings ranked number one in drug references in their lyrics. The report generated by data scientists at Addictions.com says out of all the genres, country has more drug references, 1.6 percent, than jazz (2nd), pop (3rd), electronic (4th) and rock (5th).
