4 arrested after drug investigation in Columbus, Indiana according to : WDRB

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A drug investigation has led to the arrest of several people in Columbus, Indiana. Davis is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of alcohol, visiting a common nuisance and marijuana possession. Phillips is facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance (LSD), maintaining a common nuisance, marijuana possession, and illegal possession of alcohol. It centered around alleged drug dealing, which included the sale of candy laced with Xanax that was being sold out of a Columbus home. According to police, an investigation revealed that people living at the home were selling drugs including marijuana, Xanax pills and LSD.

Agencies involved in the investigation were Ironwood Public Safety Department, Gogebic County Sheriff Department, Hurley City Police, Iron County Wisconsin Sheriff Department and Depart of Health and Human Services. The investigation spread throughout Gogebic County, Ontonagon County, Marquette County and Iron County, Wisconsin. As a result of a three-month crystal methamphetamine investigation, the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team (GIANT) executed a search warrant July 22 in Ironwood. All individuals were charged with drug related crimes, and one individual also had an outstanding warrant out of Gogebic County. The investigation will be forwared to the Gogebic County Prosecutor for review and authorization on pending charges.

When Frank arrived, officers tried to detain him, but Frank resisted and a struggled ensued. When officers tested the substance, it tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl. Police say even after being handcuffed, Frank continued to resist his arrest violently, even kneeing an officer in the groin. Officers took Frank to Norwalk Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
