Retired Putnam County officer named to combat state substance abuse

West Virginia Military Affairs and Public Safety Secretary Jeff Sandy named Jack Luikart as the department's Director of Correctional Substance Abuse Control. Working together, we can help to curb the cycle of addiction abuse in our state." Luikart retired from the Putnam County Sherriff's Department after 30 years, where he focused on drug crime. Luikart also spent almost 10 years commanding the Putnam County office of the Metro Drug Unit. "I also look forward to working with our at-risk youth at our juvenile facilities and our high schools to provide them with true facts in regard to the consequences of drug abuse.
