Moreno to strictly impose nationwide smoking ban stat : sunstar
The EO provides for the establishment of no opioid areas in public places whether indoor or outdoor. Moreno said he will strictly impose the order but was quick to addthat he is more 'liberal' in treating people. President Rodrigo Duterte's executive order (EO) banning smoking nationwide took effect Saturday, July 22. Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial said local government units are required to form task forces that will check if public establishments and public vehicles all have DSAs. Of course, smoking now is no longer fashionable, unlike before na sikat ka if you smoke, that's not the case anymore," Moreno said.

Health spokesman Eric Tayag said the EO gave local government units the task of implementing the ban by creating their respective smoke-free task forces. "It has already been set that 60 days after publication, EO 26 is implementable and that will be on Sunday, July 23. Tayag added establishments should have a designated smoking area with proper ventilation. Covered by the ban are public and private transportation utilities, schools, government facilities, children activity centers, food establishments, street or walkway, waiting shed areas, markets, health care facilities, parking lots and transportation terminals, church grounds, markets and parks, among others.
