In Pitt County there were 12, in Lenoir County there were seven and in Beaufort County there were five. "Substance abuse is an issue that's growing both at the county level at the state level, and even at the national level," Gerard said. WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) — A program in Beaufort County is trying to lower the number of drug overdose deaths in eastern North Carolina. "It's cost people their lives, from the young to the very old, so we can't be quick to judge," said Glenn Mercer, operations chief for Beaufort County EMS.

According to Business Insider, since the 2014 season, the Cowboys lead the NFL in players who have been suspended (15) and the number of games for which those players have been suspended (100). The Cowboys knew of the incident and assumed a suspension would be coming down.

TMZ was the first to report Dias' cause of death as complications of chronic substance abuse. The former MTV "Road Rules" contestant who was found dead in Brooklyn two months ago died due to prolonged substance use, officials confirmed. The New York Chief Medical Examiner determined the official cause of death for Danny Dias — whose body was discovered in his apartment by authorities on June 3 — is complications of chronic substance abuse, a spokesperson for the office told the Daily News. Police had reportedly investigated his death as a possible suicide due to the cuts on his arm at the time.
