Group gets $1.25 mn to battle substance abuse
AdvertisementA Norwood group found guilty by Battling drug abuse has been awarded a federal grant worth $1.25 mn over ten years. "Our goal is to make Norwood a secure & drug-free place for our youth," said Sigalle Reiss, the town's public health director & chairwoman of influence Norwood, in a statement. The group was 1 of 719 receiving grants totaling $89 mn as portion of the Drug-Free societies backing Program. Impact Norwood have to reapply after the 5th year to secure the 2nd half of the money. Its members involve town staff, youth, parents, society leaders, & business & faith-based organizations.

"If I didn't have this, I do not know the method far along my healing would be," said Ashley Godfrey. "And a lot of that, you know, I didn't know the method to handle that."
