Officials in 1 the nation's largest provinces on Wednesday filed lawsuits versus some of the country's biggest drug industrialists over their allegedly aggressive marketing of prescription Opium painkillers. Cook province, Ill., that includes Chicago, joins an increasing number of cities, states & provinces suing drug industrialists amid the U.S.'s spiraling Opium epidemic. According to the Cook province medicinal Examiner's office, 647 people died from drug overdose dyinges involving Opium in Cook province in 2015. Cook province sues pharmaceutical companies over Opium epidemic

Cook province followed the path of five suburban provinces Wednesday, filing a grievance versus some of the nation's largest pharmaceutical companies that aims to hold them responsible for the nation's Opium epidemic. The grievance alleges "unlawful marketing" by the industrialists, that the province contends has led to an "Opium problem facing Cook province inhabitants," according to a province break news release. The collar province lawsuits don't specify the exact amount of damages sought.
