Livonia doctor found guilty in perscription drug conspiracy, health care fraud

A federal indictment was unsealed today charging a Livonia doctor & 7 other people by conspiracy to illegally distribute highly addictive prescription drugs. According to the indictment, Dr. Zongli Chang wrote medically needless prescriptions for Opium & other controlled substances in interchange for cash payments. The recruiters allegedly paid Chang cash at each visit for the prescriptions provided & too paid cash to the fake patients for coming for an office visit. The indictment charges which Chang always prescribed the demanded controlled substances after a cursory examination or no examination at all. Chang was too found guilty by health care fraud for allegedly billing Medicare for services he did'nt provide.

LIVONIA, Mich. - A Livonia doctor & 7 other people were found guilty Tuesday in a prescription drug conspiracy. A federal indictment charges Dr. Zongli Chang, 52, of Novi, by conspiracy to illegally distribute prescription drugs & health care fraud. "The routine manner in that Dr. Chang illegally made medically needless prescription drugs obtainable to con-conspirators who enabled drug abusers to more their addictions won't be tolerated," said FBI Special Agent David P. Gelios. In addition to the conspiracy charge, Chang faces 3 counts of health care fraud for billing Medicare for services not provided. A 31-year-old Person from Lara, near Geelong, & a 28-year-old Port Melbourne Person were remanded in custody after being found guilty by drug trafficking on Tuesday. It is understood the pair had been staying at a Port Melbourne property owned by Thompson, that was raided by police final Friday. A 22-year-old Mill Park lady was too catched & found guilty by drug trafficking in connection by the investigation. From 2000-2010 Thompson was the senior coach at Geelong, winning 2 premierships in a dominant era for the Cats.
